Classes and workshops (outside of the regular montly meetings)

  • April 18 – Exposed French Link Stitch Journal

    A soft cover journal using the popular French link sewing that opens completely flat and is just the right size for musings or drawings.
    Judy Sommerfeldt – Instructor

    Supply list:

    • 40 folios/sheets of text weight paper 8 1/2” X 11 (Better quality copy paper is fine.)
    • 2 cover papers 8 5/8” X 13 1/2” – provided by UCA
    • 2 decorated papers 8 1/2” X 11 1/4” (optional)
    • sewing hole template – provided
    • 2 ½ yards waxed linen thread – provided

    Tools:

    • Bone folder
    • Sewing needle with large eye – crewel needle is good
    • Teasing needle aka “frog sticker” (optional)
    • Scalpel or xacto knife with sharp blade
    • Scissors
    • Metal ruler (12” -18”) and pencil
    • Cutting mat
    • Punching cradle or catalog
    • Sewing weight – 2 or 3 lb. hand weight, jewelry box with BB’s, covered brick
